After graduating from Trinity College Eleanor McEvoy was accepted into the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland where she spent four years before finally deciding to leave the world of classical music and concentrate on her passion for songwriting.
Since her time as a violinist with the National Symphony Orchestra Eleanor has released five critically accalimed albums and penned numerous songs making her Ireland’s most sucessful female songwriter.

On Friday August 19, 2005 Eleanor will return to a world she left behind but still holds in great affection when she performs a selection of her songs with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
Eleanor McEvoy “Her Songs and Music” fulfils one of her dreams in bringing to the National Concert Hall her own compositions to be performed with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra under the baton of David Brophy. The orchestra consisting of fifty musicians will include a contemporary rhythm section.
Eleanor’s musical education in Trinity College enabled her to provide her own musical scores for many of the tracks to be found throughout her five albums. To these existing arrangements by Eleanor will be added new orchestrations by some of Ireland’s finest arrangers creating a special musical evening.
Eleanor will be revisiting her entire songbook from “A Woman’s Heart” through to
“Please Heart You’re Killing Me” and “I’ll Be Willing”.

One of Europe's most versatile musical ensembles embracing works from Messiah to Les Misèrables.
Commissions include seven Eurovision Song Contests and the phenomenally successful Riverdance. More recently, recordings such as Joyce Songs: James Joyce's Musical Dublin and Lunchtime Choice 2 have been released in association with RTÉ Lyric

Film soundtrack credits include The Island by Brian Byrne, Irish Destiny by Michael O’Suilleabhain and The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse by Joby Talbot.
Recent engagements included a season focussing on Haydn at the Helix, Gala Concerts with Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, Luciano Pavarotti and Kiri Te Kanawa and Opera Ireland's productions of Mozart's The Magic Flute, Puccini's Gianni Schicchi and Alexander von Zemlinsky's A Florentine Tragedy in the Gaiety.
Recordings of the orchestra are to be found on the Marco Polo and Naxos labels.
David Brophy (Conductor)
A much celebrated conductor and arranger whose credits include conducting The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, The National Chamber Choir, The Ulster Orchestra, and The Irish Chamber Orchestra. David has worked with numerous international artists including Anthony Rolfe Johnson, Hugh Tinney, Harry Sparnaay, Raphael Wallfisch, Mikhail Rudy, Liam O’Flynn, Riverdance and U2.

Brian Byrne
Multi-talented Irish born Brian Byrne moved to Los Angeles in July 2003 to pursue a career as a film and television composer. He is in demand constantly as a composer, conductor, songwriter, arranger, and pianist.
Brian Byrne has composed and orchestrated film scores and an opera; written charts for orchestra, pop, jazz and big bands; collaborated with artists such as Bono, Lisa Stansfield, Van Morrison, The Corrs, Sinead O’Connor, Chaka Kahn, Michael Bolton, Ronan Keating, Alanis Morissette, Ronan Tynan, and Gladys Knight.
Noel Eccles
Noel Eccles was principal percussionist with Ireland's National Symphony Orchestra for eighteen years and has played on more than fifty musical scores with the Irish Film Orchestra. He has performed as a percussionist on more than one hundred and fifty albums. His touring, concert and recording credits include U2, Van Morrison, Sting, Brian Eno, The Chieftains, Hothouse Flowers, Elvis Costello, Dave Stewart, Donal Lunny and Sinead O'Connor.
Noel Eccles was an original member of the Riverdance Orchestra (Liffey Company) since its beginning in 1995.

Fergus O’Carroll
Fergus studied with Victor Malirsh in the Royal Irish Academy of Music under a scholarship from the Irish Youth Orchestra. He joined the RTÉ Symphony Orchestra as fourth horn until 1977, when he was appointed first Horn with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. In the meantime, Fergus studied horn with Niko Gruger of the Munich Conservatoire of Music and Dale Clevenger of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He returned to the RTÉ Symphony Orchestra in 1985 (then renamed the National Symphony Orchestra) and has since been co principal first horn as well as performing as soloist with most of the orchestras in the country.
Johnny Tate
Johnny is one of Ireland’s top orchestral arrangers and musical directors. He has arranged and conducted works for artists appearing on BBC TV, RTÉ Radio and RTÉ Television. He is also associated with numerous albums by the late Frank Patterson along with CD’s such as Songs from a Secret Garden, Celtic Spirit by The RTÉ Concert Orchestra and two volumes of Faith of Our Fathers along with contributing string arrangements to R.E.M’s Reveal.
