From her early career honed and developed in Ireland, Eleanor has gone to become an artist and performer known throughout the world for her stunning live performances. As a result of what one music critic described as "Ms McEvoy's flawless performances", Eleanor has built a loyal and devoted fan base throughout the UK, USA, Australia, Asia and Europe. Her songwriting and critically acclaimed canon of work spans five albums, several singles and appearances on numerous compilation albums one of which has just won Compilation Album of The Year from Irish Music Magazine. Eleanor McEvoy songs have been performed by a legion of artists, translated into other languages, used in film and performed by artists as diverse as Emmy Lou Harris and Curved Air's Sonja Kristina. Her co-writing song credits have seen her published with fellow writers and performers such as Rodney Crowell, Lloyd Cole, Brad Parker and Henry Priestman. Autumn 2003 sees Eleanor putting the finishing touches to her brand new studio album scheduled to be released in the early part of 2004. As a natural progression from this recording, Eleanor will be touring from March 2004 accompanied by Brian Connor. "Ms. McEvoy has the skills of a first-rate songwriter, she sings with a voice that is forthright and welcoming, from a breathy low register up to a clear mezzo-soprano." Jon Pareles - New York Times "Watching Eleanor McEvoy play to a full house, one had the feeling all were in on the start of something...good. Very good. Deservingly, McEvoy was called back for two encores." Hollywood Reporter "McEvoy's musical proficiency extends to her vocals intense and captivating, she is capable of rendering peaks and valleys,----- picking up a guitar she began seducing the crowd with "Finding Myself Lost Again" she swiftly slid over to keyboards for a dizzying duo "For You" and "It's Not Quite Love". Then handling a violin with fluid virtuosity, McEvoy kicked into "Leave Her Now", again winning a rapturous response." Hot Press "Eleanor had the undivided attention of every one who was at her intimate gig in Salisbury last Sunday,------ an absolute pleasure to watch." Kelly Stooke BBC
"Arriving onstage alone, guitar in hand, Eleanor served up a striking
set of a dozen tunes culled equally from her albums. Lead songs 'The Fire
Overhead' and 'The Boundaries of Your Mind' were instant reminders that this
woman shoots straight from the heart."
